Today was a good day, a relaxy day. I had the day off work and I slept in. Of course Cinny did her best to wake me up several times.

I felt her paw tap on my face several times and more than a few times she placed her kitty lips really close to my ear and howled. Nothing quite like a Siamese howl to shock you out of the nicest dreams and she knows it. She also knows to run like hell out of the room when I sit up and flail around trying to find her in the dark. In the end I stayed in bed until around 9:45 which was awesome.

When I did finally drag my butt out of bed I realized that I has missed my old friend Karen’s call. Karen I’ve known since I was 2 and who I lost touch with after my divorce. Thanks yet again to Facebook we are yet again able to talk to each other, how cool is that?

We spent something like an hour on the phone with each other. Turns out she and her family moved to Alberta back in 2001 and she had another kid who is 2. Man! I’m telling you, there are so many friends of mine that have little guys and here I am with these grown kids!

After the call I made some yummy cheese tea biscuits and a nice pot of coffee and settled down to watch tv and not.think.about.anything. Nice!

Tom’s off again this weekend and we have plans to tackle the long border lines (or rather hopefully not if we leave early enough) and do some of the Xmas shopping for the US family. This stuff gets mailed from the States alleviating the whole issue of packages crossing the border and all the accompanying delays, plus we have a chance to do some of our shopping (ROSS!!) and a nice seafood meal at Anthony’s in Bellingham… hopefully!

Tonight is Chinese food dinner, some nice wine and a family DVD movie night.

Happiness!

I think this is just about the cutest thing ever.

First off; how my manly hubby looks so cute and comfy all snuggled under my pink and red fuzzy heart blanket passed out sleeping (I covered him up) and second of all how much our little Cinny loves her Daddy.

Check out the “piss off” look she’s giving me while I take the picture!

“Don’t open yet!!!!”

November 12, 2007

Here is a video I took of Tom when we gave him his Birthday gifts the night before his Birthday. Tom had to work the night of his B’day and the Boys would have been over at their Dad’s so the gift giving portion of our program had to be a day early.

After I played the video back I was surprised to hear myself in the middle of the song being, well bossy. I guess it’s from years of telling the kids what or what not to do as well as maybe that deep seeded desire I have to have things done… well frankly MY WAY.

I didn’t realize I was quite as bad though until I saw this. It makes both Tom and me laugh because he takes me in stride (good thing) and just says it’s me being ‘me’ and I’m just grateful that he lets me be me!

Phew!

Why can’t all animals do this?

I love it when a company gets it right with a commercial. Personally I prefer humour, usually the kind that catches me by surprise.  This is my new insta-fave!

Pink it’s like red but not quite

November 11, 2007

Years ago I went through this ridiculously girlie stage of needing to not only be surrounded by pink but also florals. I’m talking floral sheets, pictures even down to what I wore..

I think it was a complete 180 from my darker moodier teen years where all I wanted to do was wear black and wear too much eyeliner.

Even after I started to move a little more away from flowers the theme was still very strongly pink. At one point even my furniture was pink.. well more a dusty rose which is basically pink, shit even my WALLS were pink, though truth be told that wasn’t by choice that was just by circumstance and was too much even for me.

I’m a touch more selective in my pink obsession now and I tend to focus more on personal accessories like my laptop (who I’ve named Dita Von Dell), my clothes (of course) a fuzzy blanket here or there and kitchen gadgets. The furniture I’m happy to say lives very much in the neutral zone these days.

Tom and I were drinking our late morning coffee and going through the local paper’s ad inserts and I came across this OMFG how cute is that?? It is nice to know that I’m not the only one who combines their love of pink and love of gadgets all in one pinkalicious package! Yeah I do have a problem… heh.

Last year for Christmas Tom bought me a pink lava lap to go along with the purple one I had for years which will so go in our Mod room some day. After spending several hours mucking out our place together yesterday we turned on the lava lamps and watched the movie Music and Lyrics (which I love) and sipped some wine. There is just something so relaxing and hypnotic about a lava lamp… see even Cinny thinks so.

Cinny caught up in the wonder that is lava

I have to say though, people by the light of a lava lamp can look quite skeery..

Especially with that look in Tom’s eye!

Peace out!
