Tom presented me with my belated M-Day present this morning…
Yay! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!
See, I was kind of out of it. Not because I used it up, more like I kind of broke my last bottle on the bathroom tiles. Now I gotta say when a perfume bottle goes kablooey it goes kablooey. Glass shrapnel everywhere! Including embedding a nice shard in the side of my toe.
Worse yet, it broke when I was kind of um, well “occupied” on the toilet. Too much information? Yeah sorry. Anyway, the bottle wasn’t where it was supposed to be (my fault of course being lazy and not putting it back) and it exploded in a fragrant puddle. Good thing it was down to less than 1/8th of a bottle (it was the jumbo sized one). Needless to say I had to be REALLLLY careful when I got up off that toilet.
I mopped up the spilled perfume and carefully vacuumed every square inch of the floor as we have both feet and paws to worry about ’round here. Thank goodness Oscar isn’t a really strong perfume. For days after that everyone walking from the bathroom into any other room in the house would track Oscar and frankly it made the place smell great! Much better than “eau de boy sweat” and cheesy toe jam that normally poisons the air thanks to those stinky boys of ours.
I had a back up bottle of “Touch of Pink” by La Coste which is nice but a bit too, oh, flowery or something for long term use. Oscar by Oscar de la Renta has been my ’signature scent’ since I was 17 (10 years ago) ehem. Yeah I know who am I foolin?
Anyway, kisses to you Honey for the lovely gift. My nose and I thank you!
After a nice long sleep Tom got up, put on the coffee and started the preparations for his Mother’s Day pancake breakfast. I sleepily left the bedroom to see a package and card sitting on the table for me. Tom said it’s not the main present, that would be coming tomorrow and I didn’t have it because he did something silly. I dunno what that means either!
Anyway, in the package was a very cute stuffed pig, he knows I love all things pink and pig. I was rubbing his fur and saying out cute it was when it made an oinking noise which surprised Tom he said he had no idea that it oinked. That gives me two oinking pig things in my possession now.
The card was tailor made for him too.. too funny!
Here’s Tom wearing his old man glasses trying to peer at the overly small writing on the side of the Bisquick box.

A few years ago after a disastrous attempt to take me out for Mother’s Day breakfast not knowing that ever single place in town was crowded to the extreme, he’s taken to doing the ‘at home’ thing and we do a breakfast or dinner “out” on another day. Works for me, I hate crowds. I do the same for my Mom so it all works out.
Chris got up just before they were ready and came in to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day (without any prompts, ahhh he’s growing up) and announced he would be right back. He went into his room and came out with my presents; a spicy smelling candle and a new wine rack! I was touched he remembered once again!
Sean was feeling bad he had nothing for me. Tom had suggested before a nice gift would be to clean up the living-room (their mess of course!).
Well, it sort of got cleaned up after I mentioned it again this morning. *Sigh*, ah well. I think I would go into complete shock if the house were to be cleaned without me asking for it never mind when I do. I can dream though right?
T’was a perfect day for a tip-toe through the dandies…
Sean and I decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and take a trip to a city park.
The signs of spring were everywhere; from the fluffy dandelions to the um, fluffy squirrels.
As we strolled and snapped our pictures, we would run into lots of other people walking their dogs or enjoying the day in their own way and everyone would smile and nod and say hello back when I made eye contact with them. Well all except this couple. They were staring at us when we walked by them so I smiled and said hello. They both kept staring with the grumpiest of expressions and studiously ignored me. Sean found this infinitely amusing, especially when I surreptitiously took their picture. But from the back. I’m not crazy…they were mean!
Hee hee.
Its still early enough in spring that there was a lot more green than colour but there were still some lovely flowers in bloom. I have no clue what the heck kind of flower this is, but I loved the colours.
It was a great day. Its too bad Tom had to work and couldn’t join us
Chris HAD said he may come along us but at the last minute bailed. Not surprised really he mostly does his own thing these days. I love that Sean still will hang out with his old Mamma though.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and right here are the best presents any Mamma could have….
I’ve followed the Post-secret blog for a few years now. When I can, I check it out on Sunday nights after the new secrets are posted. When I read them, sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes they make me think and sometimes they make me sad. I think some people wish I kept more things secret, I tend to share, maybe too much sometimes.
I do remember though, what it was like to live a life pretty much made up of secrets. In the last, oh, 8 years or so, a lot in my life changed and now there is no need for them. I love you Honey.
I found this in Youtube, a student project that was inspired by Post Secret. Enjoy.
Oh I am so going to hell, or at least she wants to send me there..
Had one of the boys old sleepers in our linen closet and just hadda….
Needless to say she was really really pissed at me. It was particularly funny when she started walking on the floor as she would take a few steps with her front paws (with traction) and then the back (not so much).
Awww… her proud Poppa and her two brothers and the iddle-biddle baby. I’m going to have to sleep with one eye open for the next month.
