Sometimes I think I should have been born many many years ago because I love the music from the whole Rat Pack era. I always thought Men looked so much cooler then all spiffy like and wearing hats. I have a thing for hats and suits. I’ve had a few Dean Martin Cds for a while now and one kind of crappy one of both Dean and Frank on one CD, not truly representative of my fave Frank songs sooooo I decided to go and download a few. I kick myself now for not purchasing this photo of the Rat Pack that I took such a liking to in this collectible store in Vegas. It was framed up nice with some chips from…the Sands Casino I believe it was. Blah.. oh well.

To my pleasure I was able to locate 9 of my fave songs, but there was two I couldn’t locate anywhere online, even itunes which surprised me because they have access to way more songs than say Puretracks. I simply cannot find his total cliche song ‘New York, New York’ nor ‘Luck be a Lady tonight’..not sure why… maybe he was so sick of them he put something in his final epitaph that forbids any further release or playing of these songs? They’ve got to be in some old CD somewhere surely….
I have a bunch of old music I play when I do my housework. The full out swing stuff, big band stuff and the gushy early 50’s silly songs and lovey-dovey stuff… it sure makes me feel peppy and it’s my spoon for of sugar that makes the cleaning more fun. Soooo many times my poor Sons have had their Old Momma grab their hands and drag them up to dance with me. Chris was always more tolerant of it, Sean would roll his eyes and give me limp spaghetti arms to work with. Now they are both older, they play along with me with I’m sure some eye rolling but that’s ok I just love doing it.
We are off to B-ham again tomorrow, this time with Sean in tow. He still likes hanging out with us ‘old folks’ and he’s looking forward to going under the condition of NO WHINING because we are taking too long shopping! Chris considered going until he realized it meant getting up early in the morning ‘GASP’ so after hearing me talk about it decided that he would stay home and hold down the fort. Big shock, I’ve pretty much given up asking him if he wants to go places, it’s always no.
Tom and I have two, count em TWO days off together!! Whoohoo!! It’s so cool to be able to hang out together for two days in a row!

Can I just say I love that word? It is without a doubt my new favourite word. I saw a friend of mine use it and I’ve been using it ever since but saving it for the ultimate usage. It deserves the absolute perfect opportunity for use however because it IS the best word EVARRR!! I’ve known a lot of Asshats over the years, I just never knew that’s what they were called.
Chris has his job…uhhh well I’m not sure if it’s an interview but job ‘whatever’ tomorrow at 1:00. I’m hoping it’s a done deal but I guess we shall find out. It’s funny how kids will spend YOUR money really easily but when it comes to money they’ve earned it’s a wholeee other matter. Chris had earned a few bucks helping out around his Father’s Condo and he’s been reluctant to part with it. When I took Sean to buy his new game Chris was examining the prices on the used games and doing the math, figuring out if he gave into temptation he would have X dollars left and was quite horrified. There wouldn’t be much left!! YEGADS!!! Money doesn’t grow on trees after all!! After all that sweat, it would be a sin to waste it on something so frivolous.. gosh wish he figured that out when it was our money he wanted to spend. Of course given the opportunity he would spend our money again with no problem! Just wait until he has to buy new clothes. He’s still cruising on the stuff we bought him and I’m sure will as long as humanly possible.

Amusing myself during an Emmy commercial. Ok kind of boring show… John Stewart (who was aptly named in a magazine as the SEXIEST Jewish Man in television) was as always hilarious and not just cos I’m in deep crush with him. Some lady who lost her thank you speech down her dress who wrote one ‘just in case’ and then stored it thinking it wouldn’t be needed.. very funny, very honest moment. The rest of it seemed pretty forced.
Gotta give it up to Felicity Huffman though, she looked genuinely astonished and grateful, I like it when people like that win…

Chris got a call from the potential employer today. He was asked to go down to the store on Wednesday afternoon to discuss him working there part-time! Yay!
Even if it’s not that many hours it’s experience he REALLY needs to get. Of course we don’t know anything really about the hours etc as yet. I guess we will find out what the deal when they meet to discuss.
I’m soooo flippin lazy today I don’t feel like doing anything much. Sean and I went out and grabbed something to eat at the KFC. Chris had come home and started to eat crap (He snarfed down a couple of pizza buns) before he noticed the time… so he wasn’t hungry for dinner.
Tom’s working tonight but it’s Emmy night so I’m gonna be glued to that!
Watching the news right now. All the die-hard hockey fans were watching an inter-squad game at the Garage today. I am a take it or leave it hockey person but some of these people were all but foaming at the mouth… too funny

Sighhh… it’s SO nice to be able to drive him again. Took Mom to the docs today, this time was her actual appointment!! She wanted to go eat so I took her for brunch and then I did her grocery shopping. I stopped at the mall to try and find a chain that will fit my pendant that Tom gave me for my last birthday. The chain that came with it is a little too short and it makes the pendant flip up. The challenge is that the pendant has an elongated tab where you put the chain so a standard round ring clasp won’t go in it. I asked at several jewelry stores and they said it’s not something they carry. You can either pinch a round clasp until it narrows or you can have a jeweler put one on especially for you. SHEESH!!
I guess that will be my next thing, just buy a chain and ask them to modify it. I wouldn’t think I’m the only person in the world that needs one like that! I want to actually wear it because I love it so I’m a bit frustrated.
No kids tonight and Tom’s working soooo I guess it’s chick flick night!
